音楽の旅人、雪猫ジルのオフィシャルリリースとしては3枚目になるフルアルバムが完成しました。
ベルギー出身の彼は日本の風景・文化をこよなく愛しています。特に彼が数か月間滞在した経験を持つ九州・大分・別府の地には特に強い思い入れがあります。
今回のアルバム「モコモココレクション」は、ヨーロッパ人として九州の生活で得た新鮮な体験によってインスパイアされたアイディアを、雪猫ジル独特のユニークな視点で描いた楽曲が収録されたコンセプトアルバムになりました。
またもう一つ、このアルバムの特徴は、別府生まれのアーティストとのコラボレーションをはじめ、彼の世界中に広がるアーティスト仲間の協力を得ていることも大変興味深いポイントです。
「日本文化とヨーロッパ音楽の融合」を雪猫ジル流の味付けで楽しませてくれるアルバムです。
Pursuing the idea of finding music where it is not supposed to be, Gilles Snowcat kept on throwing his own strategies in the island of Kyûshû, Japan. Hopefully humbly, the “Moko Moko Collection” points out the emergence of the stunning beauty of places and sensations that can only be found in that very part of the world.
“Moko-Moko Collection” can be seen as a softly hedonistic, probably romantic vision of life. Cats sleeping on a velvet bed, fluffy feelings caressing your yet unquiet soul, this is what we call ‘goro-goro music’.
On a technical side, “Moko-Moko Collection” has been recorded by a bunch of the baddest cats coming from England, Belgium, France, Australia, and of course Japan. Some are long-time collaborators, some freshly recruited, some from Awaken fame, some not. It is an it’s Oh! Music release.
The recording would never have been the same without the help of kabosu & yuzu liquors from the
prefecture of Ôita.
